  1. WHAT KIND OF FRANCHISE IS AVAILABLE?

Onion Franchise Group LLC offers qualified applicants single store locations or the option to develop multiple store locations within an agreed upon geographic area. A Franchisee will have limited exclusivity in the area subject to certain rights retained by Onion Franchise Group, LLC. The total number of stores in any area is determined by analyzing demographic characteristics, population, economic conditions, available locations and other factors determined by Onion Franchise Group, LLC.

  1. WHAT ARE THE ESTIMATED COSTS?

Franchise Fee: $15,000 for one location.

Franchise owner must pay for or provide financing for the purchase or lease of premise.

*Equipment Costs: $50,000 – $73,000

*Leasehold Improvements: $40,000 – $93,000

*Advertising and Grand Opening: $1,000 – $4,000

*Insurance: $1,200 – $3,000

*Training Expenses: $2,000 – $3,500

*Opening Inventory and Supplies: $5,500 – $8,000

*Royalties: 5% of Gross Sales

*These costs are estimated only and do not include opening cost, required deposits, working capital and other miscellaneous expenses. Total costs for opening a store will vary from $139,900.00 to $248,000.00 depending on local code requirements, real estate and construction costs and a number of other factors.

  1. WHAT ABOUT SITE SELECTION?

The Blind Onion Pizza and Pub may be located in regional shopping centers, community strip shopping centers, free standing and highly dense retail locations. Space required is generally between 1800 and 2800 square feet. After you have selected a location and completed the site selection criteria package (Population density, traffic counts, building size, etc), our representative will review the information to determine the viability of the site for final approval.

  1. WHAT TRAINING IS AVAILABLE?

We would like individuals to have prior restaurant or retail management experience but it is not required to become a Franchisee. After completion of the selection process, each Franchisee must attend and pass our 4 to 6 week, 160 hour training program, which will teach you the aspects of operating a successful store. The program consists of both classroom time and hands-on, in store operational experience. The course work covers customer service, product selection, food preparation, restaurant procedures, and financial controls. In addition, comprehensive testing will be conducted based on the training program. 

  1. WHAT KIND OF OPENING SUPPORT WILL I RECEIVE?

A company representative will always be available to answer questions during the construction and setup of your store and will be present, at the company’s expense, to assist the new Franchisee on the opening day of the restaurant. 

  1. HOW IS ADVERTISING HANDLED?

Local advertising is the Franchisee’s responsibility. We require approval of all marketing materials used and do provide input for print ads, and various other advertising elements.

  1. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO OPEN FOR BUSINESS?

Depending upon the time it takes for you to secure the approved site, and receive all the necessary permits, you should plan on up to 9 months to open your restaurant. Once the lease is signed and plans are drawn and approved, construction can normally be completed in 90 to 120 days depending on the extent of the project.

  1. HOW MANY EMPLOYEES ARE NEEDED?

This will depend upon the size, location, traffic patterns and store hours of your restaurant. Since some of your employees are likely to be part time, it is not uncommon to have 10 or more on staff.

  1. WHAT ARE THE HOURS?

Hours are generally from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM Monday through Friday, Noon to 10:00 PM Saturday, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sundays. Some sites may have reduced or extended hours due to location and lease requirements, etc.

  1. HOW MUCH MONEY CAN I MAKE?

There are many variables that contribute to store profitability, such as location, size, personal commitment, experience and financial resources. Starting a new business incorporates a certain amount of risk. Onion Franchise Group, LLC cannot estimate the results of any Franchise. We will work closely with each Franchisee to help you acquire the necessary skills and knowledge that are needed to maximize operating results.

  1. CAN I ADD MY OWN MENU ITEMS?

Onion Franchise Group, LLC has developed a standard food menu that all Franchisees must follow. We test and review new products and menu items on an ongoing basis. In addition we provide you with an Approved products list to guide you in your purchasing decisions.

  1. WHO DO I PURCHASE FOOD SUPPLIES FROM?

Onion Franchise Group, LLC will arrange contractual pricing through competitive vendors.

Each Franchisee is required to purchase only products from the Approved brands list. It is not mandated that you purchase from these vendors, but pricing is usually advantageous.

  1. WHAT ABOUT DESIGN AND EQUIPMENT?

Each location requires a detailed set of architectural drawings. We will work with each franchisee to insure that their design will fit all the criteria for efficient operations and appealing decor in the restaurant. The plans required for your location, including any modifications or changes, are totally at Franchisee expense. We will work with you to insure that all standard equipment, furnishings and fixtures required for the operation of the restaurant are included. It is the Franchisee’s responsibility to purchase and install all necessary leaseholds, equipment, furnishings and fixtures. Onion Franchise Group, LLC is not in the practice of selling any of these items, but may do so to maximize cost efficiencies or availability of special items such as uniforms, photography, artwork and promotional items. A representative will consult with you on the specifications and sources for such materials.
